Some projects are exciting to start. Others are unfortunate situations of bad construction practices allowed by mismanagement of competitors.
Today we had to demolish a pool that was suffering from Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR)—a condition that slowly destroys concrete from the inside out. What looked like a backyard oasis had reached a point where repair was no longer a safe or lasting option.
It’s never easy tearing out something that was once built with pride, especially knowing the memories that were made around it. But sometimes the best way forward is to start fresh and build it the right way.
Out with the old. On to a stronger future.
