Austin homeowners are tired of seeing their fences fall apart after just a few years in the Texas heat.

The problem is that most contractors use nails that back out as the wood expands and contracts. We build every fence using only screws, so your investment stays perfectly intact for decades. A screw-only build means no sagging panels and no emergency repairs after a summer storm.

Stop wasting money on temporary fixes and get a fence built right the first time.

Austin homeowners are often shocked when their builder-grade fence starts falling apart after just five years.

The problem is that most neighborhood developers use cheap pine and shoot them up with nail guns to save time. As the intense Texas heat sets in, those nails back out, and the pine quickly warps.

We build fences designed to last 15 to 20 years by exclusively using Western Red Cedar and heavy-duty screws. A screw-only build ensures your panels stay tight and secure through every season.

Stop replacing your fence every few years and invest in a permanent solution.

This Memorial Day, we are thinking about the men and women who gave everything so the rest of us could build something worth protecting.

K2 Fence and Stain was built on the same values we see in military service: integrity, hard work, showing up when it counts, and never cutting corners when the stakes are real.

To every veteran and active duty family in Austin and the surrounding communities, thank you. Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

As a small thank-you, K2 extends a veteran and first responder discount on all fence installation and staining projects. If you or someone in your household has served, mention it when you call.

Have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day from the K2 team.

Once Austin temperatures push past 95 degrees, unprotected wood fences start absorbing years of UV damage in just a few weeks.

We are in the final stretch before Austin summer fully locks in, and this is the last good window to stain your cedar fence before the heat makes the process less effective.

Why does timing matter? Stain needs moderate temperatures to pe*****te and cure properly. The ideal application window in Austin is 60 to 90 degrees with no rain in the forecast. Once June hits, that window gets very small.

If your cedar fence has not been stained in the last two to three years, here is what UV damage is already doing right now: breaking down the surface fibers, fading the natural color, and opening the wood to moisture during storm season.

A quality stain job now costs a fraction of what a full fence replacement costs down the road.

Call (512) 855-2565 to schedule your fence staining before the Austin heat closes the window for good.

Spring is the busiest season for fence installs in Austin, and homeowners who book now are locking in the best pricing and availability before summer schedules fill up.

Every spring, we run our Spring Rush promotion for Austin homeowners who are ready to move forward on a fence installation or staining project. It is our way of rewarding the homeowners who plan ahead instead of waiting until the last minute.

If you have been on the fence (no pun intended) about pulling the trigger on your project, this is the window. Our spring calendar is filling fast, and once the slots are gone, you are looking at a summer timeline.

Visit k2fence.com to ask about our current Spring Rush offer and get your free estimate before the season closes out.

There are dozens of wood species used for fences across Austin, but only one that consistently outperforms everything else in Central Texas heat and humidity: Western Red Cedar.

Here is why we use it on every single build:

Natural oils. Cedar produces its own oils that resist moisture, insects, and decay without chemical treatment. This matters in Austin, where we swing between 100-degree summers and heavy spring rain.

Dimensional stability. Cedar does not warp or twist the way cheaper pine or spruce does under temperature extremes. Your fence stays straight.

Weight. Cedar is lighter than most hardwoods, which puts less stress on posts and gate hardware over time.

Appearance. Cedar has a natural look and tone that no pressure-treated wood can replicate. It stains beautifully and ages gracefully when maintained.

Longevity. A properly built and stained cedar fence in Austin lasts 15 to 20 years. Cheaper alternatives typically last 6 to 10.

We hand-select every picket that goes into a K2 fence. No warped boards. No compromises.

B. Stain and reseal the existing fence
C. Add a gate or upgrade the hardware
D. Start fresh with a completely new backyard layout

Before you hire any Austin fence contractor, there are five questions you should ask, and the answers will tell you everything you need to know.

1. Do you use screws or nails? If the answer is nails, keep looking. Nails back out over time. This one question separates craftsmen from contractors just trying to get through the job.
2. Who is actually doing the work? Some companies quote the job and hand it off to rotating subcontractors. At K2, the owner is on every job or has a direct team member present. No crew roulette.
3. What wood do you use and how do you select it? Hand-selected Western Red Cedar is not the same as whatever was left on the supply truck. Ask them to walk you through their material process.
4. Do you pull permits when required? In Austin, fences over a certain height require permits. Any contractor skipping this step is putting the liability on you.
5. What does your cleanup process look like? A professional crew leaves a clean job site. If they cannot answer this confidently, picture what your yard looks like when they leave.

These five questions protect your investment and your property.
