Big news for Austin builders and future homeowners: The City of Austin just approved Hempcrete for residential construction as part of the newly adopted 2024 Technical Building Codes.

This is a big step forward for Austin—officially recognizing Hempcrete as a sustainable option for building.

At Gradek Contracting & Design, we’re proud to have been ahead of the curve—building the first permitted Hempcrete house in Austin.

As these codes take effect, we’re ready to continue leading the way with eco-friendly, energy-efficient materials and Austin-rooted craftsmanship.
