The actual forecast? 75 and sunny. ☀️

That's one more October weekend to sit outside under the pergola, and a few more weeks of good building weather for us. We're building pergolas, patio covers and decks across the metro right now, from Parker and Castle Rock to Littleton, Lakewood, Aurora and Arvada.

The old pergola on this Thornton patio was failing, so we took it out and built one that will last.

The new rough cedar shade pergola is heavier and more substantial than the one it replaced. We set it at a pitch that matches the existing roofline, so it looks like part of the house, and finished it with decorative black hardware.

You get filtered shade on the patio and a lot more character on a hot afternoon.

Same backyard in Parker. Same house. Very different place to sit. 🔨

Before: a round concrete slab, a table, and four chairs, wide open to the Colorado sun and whatever the sky decides to do.

After: a new concrete slab, cedar posts, and a shingled roof tied right into the house. ✅

Our crew handled the design, the permit, the concrete, and the build. Permit review runs two to four weeks, so starting in the fall puts you in line for a spring build. 🏡

We have been building in Colorado since 1984, and there is no money down. You pay when the work is finished and you are happy with it.

This Denver front porch had a failing deck and an old metal awning. Here's what it looks like now.

We built a new front porch deck in TimberTech Reserve Antique Leather, with Fiberon Symmetry fascia to match the home's dark gray trim. The black metal railing has an Antique Leather deck-board top cap, so there's a flat spot to set a coffee.

Overhead, we built a code-compliant low-pitch roof that ties into the house. We modified the eaves for a proper attachment, which gives the home a cleaner, more modern look that still fits the original architecture.

There's a rental unit entrance under the porch, so we installed a drainage system beneath the new decking. The tenant gets a dry entry, even in a storm.

Big views out here in Elbert County, and now a deck that fits them.

We installed a new TimberTech PRIME+ deck in Coconut Husk on this second-story deck, with matching Coconut Husk stair treads and a picture-frame border. White composite fascia ties into the home's trim, and TimberTech black metal railing with a custom deck-board top cap keeps the view open.

At the top of the stairs we added a matching black gate, which is handy for kids and pets.

The address says Parker, but this one sits just over the line in Elbert County. We build all over the area.

This Castle Rock backyard went from a bare concrete porch and gravel to a terraced deck with room to spread out.

We built a grade-level terraced deck in Deckorators Summit, with steps down from the existing concrete patio and another set of steps to the side yard. A matching black gate sits at the top of those steps, and TimberTech black metal railing runs around the rest of the deck.

One detail we're proud of: a custom-fabricated, black powder-coated window well cover mounted flush with the deck surface, so the basement still gets light and nobody trips.

We also swapped out the builder-grade porch rails for matching black iron so everything ties together.

South-facing patios in Parker get a lot of sun. This one finally has shade.

We started with site prep and poured a new 4,000 psi plant-mixed concrete patio with full rebar reinforcement. Then we built a shed-style roof that ties into the house, with shingles matched to the existing roof, trimmed wing walls, gutters, cedar posts, and ceiling fans.

Before, it was a small round slab in full sun. Now the family has a covered outdoor room they can use all summer.

We built this Denver backyard in 2016. This fall we came back and gave it a brand-new surface.

It's a sprawling grade-level deck with a built-in grill kitchen, several elevated step landings, and a sunken fire pit wrapped in bench seating. The homeowners had us pull every board and install all-new TimberTech Terrain+ decking in Weathered Oak with matching fascia.

We also added a custom bench back around the fire pit, so the cushions stay on the bench instead of ending up in the bushes.

Same layout they love, fresh surface, just in time for fire-pit season. Being family-owned since 1984 means we're still around for the decks we built years ago.

Same house. Same deck height. One big difference: a roof. 🏔️

Elizabeth, Colorado. Open prairie out back, a second-story deck with nothing overhead, and a grill sitting out in whatever the weather decided to do that day.

We built a gable roof over the deck with a truss detail you can see from the yard, wrapped the posts in faux stone, and ran black metal railing across the front. The concrete patio below picked up a roof too — now there are two covered spots to sit instead of none.

The roof is framed for Front Range snow load, because out on the plains the snow does not fall straight down. ❄️

We have been building in this climate since 1984, and there is no money down — you pay when it is finished and you are happy with it.
