We’re keeping the original brick, but everything around it is getting a much more modern look.

The exterior will feature a charcoal slate tile roof, cedar slat siding, black-on-black Andersen windows, and a mix of sleek black finishes, cedar, and glass.

Clean lines, natural materials, and a more contemporary finish while still keeping part of the home’s original character.

If a contractor's whole pitch is tearing down somebody else's work, ask them to explain their own.

What would they do differently? Why? What questions have they asked about the job before deciding the last person got it wrong?

There's a difference between explaining a real problem and putting another contractor down to sell yourself. Show the work. Explain the reasoning. Give the homeowner something useful to make a decision with.

That's the conversation worth having.

This project is officially in the finishing phase.

Paint is done, tile is going in, millwork arrives next, followed by flooring and appliances. After that, we’ll come back through for final touch-ups and details.

This is the stage where everything starts coming together fast.

A good pre-construction meeting helps prevent surprises later.

At Angie Court, we had nearly 20 trades walk the space before work moves forward. That gives everyone a chance to see the actual conditions, ask questions, and identify anything that needs to happen before their part of the job begins.

It also helps us get cleaner bids, better planning, and fewer change orders once construction is underway.

The more we can solve before the work starts, the smoother the project runs.

This master bath is one of the standout spaces in the entire home.

A 900-pound tub, high-end tile, full stone doorways and entries, and careful coordination went into getting every detail right without damaging the finishes.

The lighting was also a great reminder of why working with a designer matters. We wouldn’t have necessarily chosen it on our own, but seeing it come together in the finished space made all the difference.

Next month, this project should look very different.

The remaining drywall and insulation will be out, electrical demo will be complete, new electrical and plumbing will be underway, framing will be moving forward, and we’ll start pouring the pylons and columns for the new deck.

A lot of behind-the-scenes work happens before the finished spaces take shape, and this is where the progress really starts to build.
