Engineering Service Company Land Surveying Since its inception in 1954, Engineering Service Company of Colorado, Inc. The survey department is the anchor of our services to our clients.

(“ESC”) has been providing creative and cost effective surveying and engineering solutions across the Colorado Front Range and mountain communities. Our surveys provide a precisely detailed layout of all the features of a parcel of land from its boundary to its site and utility improvements. The survey’s level of difficulty and accuracy is matched only by the sophistication of the equipment used t

o produce it. We employ the use of conventional Total Stations, TrimbleTM Robotics, and TrimbleTM Global Positioning System (“GPS”) receivers. By using our survey as the basis for design, we insure the integrity of the projects plan sets as they evolve to final form. Plan sets include Subdivision Plats, Zoning Documents, Site Plans, and Final Construction Documents necessary for municipal approvals and construction. ESC is positioned to accept the challenge of a full range of surveying projects. We have the ability to respond quickly to demanding assignments, project schedules, and changing project scopes. From the years of experience of the survey personnel to the presentation quality of our documents onto the project management capabilities backed by years of success, ESC is ready to go to work for you.

Happy Independence Day from Engineering Service Company! 🇺🇸

As America celebrates 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we honor the generations who helped build our nation—from its earliest surveyors carrying chains and compasses to today’s professionals using modern technology.

For more than 70 years, Engineering Service Company has been proud to continue that tradition by helping define boundaries, develop communities, and shape the future.

"On This Day" April 7, 1827
Benjamin Franklin Wadsworth

Today we remember Benjamin Franklin Wadsworth, born April 7, 1827 — an early settler whose influence helped shape the community that would become Arvada.
In 1870, the U.S. Post Office asked Wadsworth to name the growing settlement to distinguish it from other communities along Ralston Creek. His wife, Mary Ann Wadsworth, chose the name “Arvada,” honoring her brother-in-law, Hiram Arvada Haskin — giving our city the name we know today.

Wadsworth was among the early settlers in the area, contributing to Arvada’s agricultural roots and community development. His name lives on today in familiar landmarks like Wadsworth Boulevard, a lasting reminder of his impact on the region.
A respected member of the early agricultural community, Wadsworth’s legacy lives on not only in name, but in the roots of Arvada itself.

He passed away on April 12, 1893, but his story remains part of our shared history.
