Climb, pose and play in a variety of vehicles in the back parking lot of Blackberry Farm. Vehicles may include police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, bulldozers, tractors, and more! The park will not be open during the event.

Honk for Touch A Truck!

Join the fun as surrounding agencies participate in this educational and entertaining event for kids of all ages. Check out all of the cool trucks and vehicles in the parking lot and step inside (Door #1) and get a FREE Child Safety ID courtesy of the North Aurora Police Department and visit the North Aurora Lions Club for a FREE vision screening for kids!

Touch a Truck will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 10am - 1pm at Jewel Middle School (1501 Waterford Drive). The first 30 minutes of the event (10am - 10:30am) will be sensory viewing so no lights and sirens/sounds!

Before GPS, automation, and digital controls, there was skill, grit, and a whole lot of teamwork.

What began as McCarthy Improvement Company of Davenport, Iowa, became Geneva Construction in 1926, growing into a company that has spent 100 years helping build the streets, neighborhoods, and future of Aurora, Illinois. While the equipment has changed dramatically over the decades, the dedication to quality paving has remained the same.

How far back does your asphalt plant history go?

In 1956, Geneva Construction Company purchased seven acres along Indian Trail in Aurora and established the asphalt plant that would become a key hub for paving the roads serving the city’s residents and economy. In this photo, trucks line up to load mix from the company’s Barber-Greene BatchPac—a look at the plant operations and equipment behind the paving work that helped keep Aurora moving.
