The secret to productive okra plants? Harvest often!

Okra grows incredibly fast during summer heat. For the most tender pods, harvest when they're 2–4 inches long and still soft. Waiting too long can result in tough, woody pods.

Growing Tips:
✔ Loves hot weather
✔ Plant in full sun
✔ Water consistently
✔ Harvest every 1–2 days during peak season

The more you pick, the more your plants will produce.

One of the most common summer gardening questions! 💧

Most vegetable gardens need about 1–2 inches of water per week, but it's better to water deeply and less often than lightly every day.

✅ Water early in the morning
✅ Soak the soil 6–8 inches deep
✅ Add mulch to reduce evaporation
✅ Increase watering during extreme heat

The goal is strong roots, not frequent shallow watering.

This Independence Day feels extra special as we celebrate America's 250th birthday! 🇺🇸

For 250 years, Americans have rolled up their sleeves, worked the land, grown their own food, and passed gardening traditions from one generation to the next. Whether you're firing up the grill, harvesting fresh vegetables, or gathering with family and friends, here's to celebrating the spirit of independence that grows in every garden.

Should you pinch flowers off young plants? 🌼

Sometimes, yes!

For young transplants—especially tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants—removing the first few flowers can encourage the plant to focus on developing stronger roots and foliage before producing fruit.

The result? Healthier plants that often deliver larger harvests later in the season.

It's a small sacrifice now that can pay off big at harvest time.

New for 2026: Sugar Rush Peach Pepper 🌶️ ✨

This rare heirloom is quickly becoming a favorite among pepper lovers.

Its beautiful peachy-pink fruits deliver an unforgettable combination of fruity sweetness, floral notes, and a smoky, slow-building heat. At 50,000–100,000 Scoville units, it brings plenty of flavor and excitement without overwhelming the palate.

Highly productive plants produce loads of slender peppers that are delicious fresh, roasted, grilled, or pickled.
