Good Saturday morning everyone! Some of you may have some projects planned today so I wanted to share a tip. All new PVC lumber so it will never rot again, have exterior wood on your house that it’s seems to need replaced or repaired every other year? Here is the solution, use top quality products and paying a premium pays off in the long run. Been using it for years now so it’s field tested and it hasn’t failed yet

Got a question guys, Most failed DIY projects I run into, the homeowner thought they had messed up the job cuz it didn’t look good after the first coat or first try..some have had to be torn out but the majority would have been fine had they kept going armed with a little knowledge. Just curious how many people would pay a professional as a job coach/consultant. To give them the specific information they need to complete their project?

The good folk Augusta Prep needed some soffits repaired, they were ate up too, soffit framing was rotted in places. Never have to worry about it rotting all the finished lumber is PVC. As always we are grateful for the opportunities and work they give us - Finished pics to come soon

I went and did an estimate on a ladies leaking shower, she had paid who knows how many thousands of dollars twice to fix the shower, I recognized the problem right away, the drain was leaking water down the side which would’ve been an easy fix but in addition to that they installed the water proofing incorrectly and water was pouring from inside and outside the curb. I hated to tell her but everything has to be torn back out, it’s like building a house on sand, the waterproofing IS the shower, the tiles just make it pretty. I felt so bad that I only quoted her $7500 materials and labor- total- to tear it all out, waterproof the shower and the floor correctly with all Schluter products and install them correctly and re-tile the shower and bathroom floor. Take up and put back the shower door, toilet and vanity. -She declined the quote, said I was way too high. Kind of took me back for a minute but sometimes the Lord removes us from situations that we have no business being in. I thought I was doing a good deed, - just be careful who you are hiring to work in your home guys, i literally hear these horror stories every week. Every time they were Licensed, bonded and insured- sure, but make sure they have the skills to back it up because that’s the most important thing is craftsmanship and knowledge.
