One of the most common questions we hear is whether pest control is safe around pets and farm animals.

The answer is yes—when products are applied properly and according to the label, pest control can be performed safely around dogs, cats, livestock, and other animals. Every property is different, which is why we take the time to understand how a property is used before making any applications.

Whether we’re servicing a suburban backyard or a rural property with animals, our goal is to target pests while minimizing unnecessary exposure to people, pets, and beneficial insects.

We recently had a few curious friends follow us around during a service visit and thought it was the perfect opportunity to talk about pet-friendly pest control.

Wasp nest removal while preparing a Lincoln, CA home for sale.

This was a small home, but once we started inspecting the exterior, we found multiple wasp nests tucked away in the eaves and other protected areas around the property. With an open house coming up and temperatures heating up, we got everything cleaned up and treated so the home would be ready for showings.

It’s always a good idea to inspect for wasp activity before listing a home, especially during the warmer months when colonies become more active.

Customer in Meadow Vista was hearing something moving around in the bathroom wall, so we went up into the attic to take a look. We found some grease runways and rodent activity that helped us narrow down where everything was traveling. From there, we were able to trace it back and set traps in the areas that made the most sense.

A lot of the time, when someone hears scratching or movement in a wall, the real clues end up being somewhere completely different. This is a good example of why a thorough inspection matters before just throwing traps everywhere.

Heavy pest pressure season is here, and sometimes the problem starts above your head.

Gutters packed with pine needles and debris can hold moisture and create ideal conditions for spiders, ants, earwigs, and other pests. Keeping them clean is one of those simple maintenance items that can help reduce pest activity around the home.

Always look at the whole picture when it comes to pest prevention. 🕷️🐜🍂

You never know what’s hiding beneath a home. 👀

While inspecting a crawlspace in Auburn, we tracked down an active rodent entry point… and spotted the rat while we were under the house. 🐀

Most homeowners never see what’s happening beneath their home, which is exactly why rodents like these areas. Hidden entry points, droppings, nesting material, and plenty of places to stay out of sight.

The good news? Once you find where they’re getting in, you can start putting together a plan to solve the problem.

🐀 RATS IN THE RV… EVICTION TIME.

This RV had some unwanted tenants living inside one of the storage compartments. Unfortunately, they weren’t paying rent either.

By the time the issue was discovered, rats had already been chewing on plumbing and electrical components. We sealed potential entry points, cleaned and sanitized the affected area, and set traps to help get the activity under control.

A lot of people don’t realize that RVs, trailers, and toy haulers can be a perfect place for rodents to move in, especially when they’re parked for extended periods.

We’ll be back for a follow-up visit to make sure everything is moving in the right direction.

Have you ever found rodents in an RV, trailer, or vehicle?

What We Found Inside These Rodent Bait Stations… 🤢

Carpenter bee season is definitely starting to ramp up around Auburn and Placer County.

These bees love exposed wood like fascia boards, eaves, decks, and overhangs where they drill perfectly round holes to create nesting tunnels. You’ll often notice them hovering in the same areas repeatedly this time of year.

A lot of homeowners mistake them for bumblebees, but carpenter bees can slowly cause damage over time if activity keeps returning to the same wood surfaces year after year.

This is a pretty active home we came across today. 👀
