They've done it again!
Team Cyclosaurass completed the Pan Mass Challenge this weekend from Sturbridge to Bourne, 109 miles, to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This team, consisting of many R.H. White employees, past and present, along with their family and friends, have raised $103,772.97 to date. This is David White's (Chairman and Treasurer) 16th PMC, riding alongside his son, Thomas White (4th generation President), who completed his 6th PMC. Chris Aguiar (Construction Services Manager) also rode with his father-in-law, Thomas Descoteaux (retired VP), who completed his 14th and final PMC ride.
We are so proud of the fundraising and physical efforts these riders endure to help support Dana Farber and find a cure for cancer. Ride on!

On July 28th, 2015 a Safety Summit was held and guest speaker Greg Anderson, author of “Safety 24/7 – Building an Incident Free Culture” was introduced to all levels of R.H. White management. Greg spoke about how to build an incident free culture, the road blocks we would face, and that everyone would have to buy into the culture change. That it would take time, potentially years, but the end goal of being incident free was not a fantasy. It was a goal that would take hard work by everyone in the company.
This book completely changed the safety culture in our company, and we’re so proud how far we have come! We remain fully committed to the journey, and the vision of an Incident Free company.

Water Treatment Facility – Construct a new 0.5 MGD Greensand Iron and Manganese Filtration System for iron and manganese removal at an existing water treatment plant.
Pre-engineered 60’ x 60’ metal building to include heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation and SCADA.
Install two new replacement submersible well pumps and motors at Well No.s 1 and 2 and redevelop the wells.
Modified and installed new site piping, site work for drainage, water, sewer, drain, electrical and all site/civil surface finishes.
Sanitary sewer force main to connect to the existing sewer system for transporting backwash and bathroom waste.
25,000 gallon backwash supply and 32,000 gallon backwash waste underground holding tanks to facilitate backwashing of pressure filters and disposal of backwash waste to adjacent sewer system.

It is , and I cannot imagine what Ralph would think of such a thing. Perhaps a mix of awe, confusion, anger, and triumph? But seeing his grandson and great-grandchildren embedded in the family business in its 100th year may be his best accomplishment for the company yet. But social media is pretty cool, too.

Yesterday we had our Foreman Development Kickoff meeting for class 7 with 6 candidates! We had one kick-off in Bow, NH and one in Auburn, MA. The program will take place over the next 6 months to help train new and upcoming foremen for the organization.

R.H. White and WhiteWater participated in the Spirit of Springfield Golf Classic on Friday, supporting the good work that the Spirit of Springfield does to promote civic pride and community engagement.
"I have been with R.H. White since 1979. I started with them after high school, and it has been my only job. At the time that I started, I could not speak any English, but I was really good with numbers and math. I started helping the foremen figure out elevations and pipe slopes, so the foremen took interest in teaching me about transit and pipe lasers. After a couple of years, I was still having some trouble with the language, but figuring elevations and slopes got easier. After 4 years, I became the youngest foreman with the company.
I always took pride in teaching my laborers and pipers until they also became foremen, like M. Gallant, A. Richards, etc. After 10 years as a foreman, I became a Superintendent. One of the things that I enjoy the most is to help the young foremen, laborers, and pipers. Now that I’m getting close to retirement, I have nothing but the most appreciation for the R.H. White Company and the opportunity that they gave me. I believe that R. H. White is the greatest company, full of opportunities where you grow up knowing the owners and being able to talk to them as you would your co-workers. My family and I will always be grateful for the opportunity that the R.H. White company has given me."
