⚡ Thinking about replacing your thermostat yourself? Sometimes that “easy swap” can turn into POP goes the fuse! 😂

Thermostat wiring is low voltage, but one wrong touch of the wires can short the 24V circuit and blow the fuse inside your HVAC system. And sometimes a blown fuse is the cheap outcome, depending on the equipment, a mistake can damage a transformer or control board.

Mini split not cooling like it used to? 👀 Check those filters!

Mini split filters can collect a TON of dust and dirt, especially during these hot Alabama summers when they’re running nonstop. ☀️🥵

Dirty filters can:
❌ Restrict airflow
❌ Reduce cooling performance
❌ Make your system work harder
❌ Increase energy usage
❌ Lead to bigger problems down the road

The good news? Most mini split filters are washable and reusable! Giving them a quick cleaning regularly during heavy use can help keep your system running efficiently.

🥵 100° outside… so how is your AC FROZEN?! 🧊

Believe it or not, an air conditioner can turn into a block of ice even on the hottest days of summer!

Your evaporator coil normally operates at a temperature just above freezing. When something causes the coil temperature to drop too low, the moisture in the air begins freezing onto it. Once that ice starts building up, airflow gets restricted even more and the problem can snowball pretty quickly. 🥶

Some of the most common causes are:
🔹 Dirty or clogged air filters
🔹 Restricted airflow
🔹 Dirty evaporator coils
🔹 Blower motor or airflow problems
🔹 Low refrigerant caused by a leak

If you notice weak airflow, your AC running nonstop, warm air coming from the vents, or ice on the refrigerant lines, don’t ignore it! Continuing to run a frozen system can lead to bigger problems.

Turn the cooling off, let it thaw, and give us a call! 🔧❄️
