The City of Kent is excited to announce the demolition of the old Police Station, located at 319 South Water Street, is scheduled to begin Monday March 14th. This is a project that has been long in the making and is the first step to prepare the sight for the new Kent City Hall.

While this is an exciting time it will not be without its challenges. During demolition, South Water Street and Haymaker Parkway will experience intermittent road closures during the actual demo. The closures will be set up and removed each day. The City will be monitoring the timing of the lights and is prepared to address issues that may be encountered.

It is our hope the road closures will be minimal, however, the safety of the public while demolition is commencing is our most important concern. Sidewalk closures on this corner begin today, March 11, 2022 and will be in place during demolition and new construction to ensure pedestrian and cyclist safety.

Please contact the Service Director, Melanie Baker, at 330-678-8105 for questions or concerns.
