Spent last Sunday sowing seeds. This year they are inside on a heat mat. Some kale have sprouted already. Hoping to get a head start with tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.

This year I am sowing seeds inside and also using a heat mat. First round of seeds are done. 24 different seeds in 3 rows, several seeds in each spot. Left one empty in each tray for easy watering.

My grandsons baby stroller netting will make the perfect covering for my brassica this summer. Planted out lacinato and dwarf kale, along with several bok choy. Soon cabbage, broccoli and brussels will be joining the family.

Come on, have to grow these. Fugetaboutit!!! In Jersey we call it sauce. A few new seeds to try this year.

Erected greenhouse today and put it in a different place this year. It will get morning and afternoon sun. This has no vents and the doors only open from the bottom. Since I dont like keeping the door open, defeats the purpose, I cut a hole in the plastic and put the top of gallon container through it. Now I can unscrew the cap to vent it. I may have to put another vent in depending on how hot it gets. I also bought a small cold frame and mounted to a table. This will get afternoon and evening sun.

Sowed more today and added a shelf. Another tomato, 2 spinach and 4 lettuces.

Seeds are out. Roughly Eight weeks before last frost. Peppers and Tomato's need atleast 8 weeks. Last year I started later and didn't get a good pepper harvest, to small. Tomato's not much better. I probably should have started even earlier.
