Our business emerged from a desire to shift homeowners’ thinking about HVAC. In an environment where so many heating and air contractors cut corners and perform “rule of thumb” work that leaves families with uncomfortable, inefficient, and unsafe homes, we saw plenty of room for improvement. The community needed an HVAC expert who was willing to provide ethical, high qu
ality work based on the principles of building science. At PV Heating & Air, we offer an alternative to the typical metro Atlanta HVAC scene – and that’s a good thing. Our owner, David Peavey, started performing HVAC work in high school and worked for many years in residential and commercial heating and air. His brother, Jason, upon finishing his degree in International Affairs and Spanish at the University of Georgia, partnered with David to launch what was originally called Peavey A/C & Heating in 2007. Their other brother, Joe, soon joined the team as well. With working class roots and a business-minded outlook, David, Jason, and Joe entered HVAC as others had before them: A family business with a strong desire to provide stellar service. Today, PV Heating & Air strives to give homeowners the best solutions for HVAC and home performance, utilizing scientific data, highly trained technicians, and a personal touch. As we serviced homes throughout the Atlanta area, it became increasingly clear that HVAC equipment was only part of the equation. Air leakage and insulation (or lack thereof) had just as great an impact on heating and cooling as the equipment we were installing. In 2011, we officially transformed into a turnkey home performance company. We also rebranded from Peavey A/C and Heating to PV Heating & Air in 2014. The purpose of the rebrand was to better communicate our holistic, building science-based approach to comfort, efficiency, and indoor air quality. David, Jason, and our other team members are Home Analyst Professionals who view the home as a system. A leader in home performance, PV is ranked as a Top 5 contractor for Georgia Power’s Energy Improvement program.
