Local 387 is saddened by the passing of our Brother Charles Wicker Book No. 824330. Charles was born on September 17th, 1934 to Gertrude and George Wicker in Akron, Ohio. Brother Wicker was a veteran in the U. S. Army and initiated into membership with Local 387 on September 1st, 1969. Brother Wicker was an active member of Local 387 and maintained his membership even into retirement. Charles passed on January 10th, 2026.

It is with a heavy heart that we share news of the passing of Brother
Freddie M. Payne, Book No. 1211234 of Boaz, AL. Freddie was born to Mary and Fred Payne in Lake City, AR on October 24th, 1951. Brother Payne entered membership with Local 601 on November 1st, 1994 and transferred into Local 387 on January 1st, 1997. Freddie maintained active membership for more than 30 years. Brother Freddie Payne passed on January 17th, 2026.
Services for our Brother were conduct on January 20th, 2026.

Local 387 is saddened by the passing of our Brother Benny Waters, Book No. 750918. Benny was born to Perry and Lola Waters on July 28th, 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida. Brother Waters first initiated into the Iron Workers with Local No. 387 on August 1st, 1966 and spent his career around the United States and Canada working in the trade. Much of his life is recorded in a book "Blue Eyed Country Boy" published in 2017. Benny was an active member of Local 387 and maintained his membership even into retirement. Brother Waters passed on January 11th, 2026 and is survived by his wife Darla and a large family.

Services are to be conducted with a private family gathering.

Just a reminder that the memorial visitation and service for Iron Worker Terry Miller, Book No. 823506, will be this Saturday January 17th, at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home located at 1891 W. McIntosh Rd., Griffin, GA 30223.

Visitation will be conducted on January 17th, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Memorial Services will follow beginning at 3:00 pm.

Brother Terry Miller passed on December 4th, 2025.
