There are many factors involved in choosing the right plumber to install your tankless water heater.
1) Is the company and more importantly, the plumber installing your unit licensed and insured? Simply ask for the installers license number and Certificate of Insurance from your plumber. A plumbing license can be easily accessed on sos.ga.gov and a COI can be provided from your plumber.
2) Is your plumber trained by the manufacturer? You can check this by going to the manufacturer’s website and looking for a local installer. This is important for a few reasons.
a) Training varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. An improperly installed unit can void your warranty leaving you with costly repairs and potentially, a premature replacement.
b) Trainings go over service and maintenance. If your provider isn’t properly trained, can they properly diagnose the issue you’re having?
c) Having your unit installed by a certified pro - as listed on the manufacturer website - could extend your parts and labor warranty through the manufacturer.
3) Safety! There are many variables that need to be addressed in order to have a proper installation. Mistakes on install can cause safety and performance issues.
