Cicada killer wasps. 🤓👇🤔

~They will emerge in June and stick around until September.
~The females are non aggressive and are unlikely to sting unless handled aggressively.
~They dig their burrows in the sandy or loose soil in order to make a nest to lay their larvae on cicada's that have been paralyzed. The larvae develop over the winter in order to emerge in the summer.

Having ants in your home...?

The culprit could be Argentine ants. Introduced to the united states in 1890 from Argentina via coffee shipments. These invasive ants make their homes in moist areas, ie sinks, water pipes, stumps, logs, and along your sidewalks. A good way to combat these persistent ants is to eliminate points of entry. Seal up cracks in your foundation, window seals, door frames, and piping on the outside of your home. Get rid old decaying lawn debris because they see that as the perfect oasis for there colony.

Creepy crawly facts below.

Millipedes vs. Centipedes

Millipedes and centipedes are often confused for one another. A few differences between the two:

Millipedes move slowly, while centipedes move quickly
Millipedes mostly eat decaying organic matter. Centipedes are carnivorous, injecting their prey with venom to kill before eating.
Millipedes do not bite. Instead, when scared, they will secrete a sticky substance that can cause an allergic reaction to humans upon contact. While rare, a centipede may bite humans. These bites are not typically life threatening.
Millipedes curl into a tight ball or coil as a defense mechanism. Centipedes do not.

A baby armadillo tearing up a small portion of the lawn, imagine what an adult armadillo could do.

Armadillos are nocturnal year-round, keeping cool underground during the day and foraging at night. However because of the armadillos' relatively low body temperature, the nine-banded species in North America tends to change its habits in the cooler months and emerge during the day to take advantage of the warm sun.
