This ipe cooler stand is all oiled up and ready for delivery. This was just a discount project to burn some surplus material while I also work on a big cabinet project, but ended up having a great time with it. One, with ipe being so hard and dense [and heavy] it's not the easiest wood to work with in this capacity, so that was a fun challenge. And two, it was beyond fun to take something so utilitarian and make it unnecessarily nice. I know they'll get a lot of poolside enjoyment out of it...in about 7 months.

So, the little mystery project I've been teasing in my stories is a lacrosse practice return. Some friends were tired of buying cheap ones that fell apart and wanted one they could easily move around. I had some hoarded composite pieces and an old lawnmower I swiped the wheels from, so this will be the last one they'll ever need to buy. I love fun little quirky projects.

Got these big ol upper cabinets built to make an existing cabinet into a built-in hutch, and a smaller linen cabinet for the bathroom. The hutch would have been a hell of a lot easier to build and install in three pieces, but looks way better as one.
