Oh what a beautiful morning!

School might be back in session but you can still be outside living your best life. Outdoor spaces are some of the parts of the house we love to focus on and knowing how our clients intend to use the outside space around their home matters! Do you cook out there? Do you play with the kids and/or the dog? Do you actually swim in that pool? Do you need to throw a baseball back there or shoot hoops? It all contributes to how we plan the areas that are outside the house. homes

Now that the World Cup is over we should comment on an iconic painter who made us see swimming pools in a completely different light.

David Hockney, who was British by birth but came to the U.S. as a young man, captured the American spirit in his art with his thoroughly captivating paintings of swimming pools in LA. Perhaps in a subliminal way he is the reason why so many of our clients view pools as a “must have” feature in their own backyards. His recent passing a month ago had us revisiting his iconic work and we encourage everyone here to look his work up online as well for your enjoyment. We asked Grok to transform one of our renderings into a David Hockney style artwork and voila! .

What you see is what you get!

Part of our process is using 3-D tools like Google SketchUp to continue the design process once we have a firm grip on plans and elevations. It is fairly amazing to see that the translation into reality is not that far off. Trust the drawing as it tells the truth.
