THE CAPE YORK PROJECT | PART 01 — THE KITCHEN 🤎

Behind every beautiful transformation, there’s a story of teamwork, planning, and attention to detail.

The first phase of our Cape York project came with an important deadline: having the kitchen ready before Thanksgiving.
With great communication, timely decisions from our homeowners, and the dedication of everyone involved, we made it happen, without compromising the quality of our work.

And this was just the beginning!

Cape York, before & after 🤎
This project touched several spaces throughout the home, each with its own needs and its own transformation.

The kitchen!

The kitchen received new countertops, new cabinetry, fresh paint, new flooring, and an entirely new layout. Of all the spaces we transformed, the kitchen was definitely the star of the show!

The Guest Bathroom!

The guest bathroom looks brand new! This transformation went far beyond the finishes. We created a walk-in shower, removed the wall between the vanity and toilet area, installed a new cabinet - super cute, by the way! - added quartz countertops, and installed new tile throughout the floor and shower area.

The upstairs bathroom!

For this bathroom, we kept the vanity area as is, transformed the existing shower into a walk-in shower, and removed the carpet.

We installed a dramatic and stunning new tile throughout the floor and shower walls, creating a modern space that brought new life to the room!

The primary bathroom!

New cabinetry, new countertops, new mirror, new light fixtures, new tile throughout floor and shower…

Talking about the shower…

Look at this! We took the opportunity to create a modern, spacious and luxury shower area! New niche, new bench, new tile, new bathtub! So many improvements happened in this space!

The basement bathroom.

Not a room that needed as much attention, but we still gave it a little refresh! We repurposed the cabinet, mirror and light fixture from the guest bathroom and installed new tile. 🤍

Different spaces, different needs, but one goal throughout the entire project: making this home work better for this family 🤎

And that’s the transformation of Cape York!

Meet Cape York 🤎

One kitchen.
Four bathrooms.
One renovation with so much more behind it than the finished photos.

This remodeling project took us through some of the most important spaces in the home: from a complete kitchen transformation to four bathroom renovations, each with its own needs and details.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing the before & afters, the process, the decisions behind the project and some of the story of bringing Cape York together.

For now, here’s a first look at the finished spaces ✨

This fireplace already had a beautiful natural stone surround, it was just missing the right finishing touch.

We selected Calacatta Castello 2cm marble for the hearth, carefully considering the existing stone, proportions, thickness, overhang, and every little detail needed for a seamless finish.

Fireplace season is here 🍂
And sometimes, a space doesn’t need a complete transformation, just the right finishing detail.

This fireplace was already beautifully finished in a rough natural stone, but one important piece was still missing.

We’ll show you what we added next 🤎

Sometimes, one detail completes the whole space.

This fireplace already had a beautiful rough marble finish, but it was missing the final piece: the hearth.

We completed it with a custom 2cm Calacatta Castello marble hearth, selected to complement the existing stone and keep the final look delicate and balanced.

We love leaving our clients a little gift, something chosen especially for them to enjoy in their new space.

And whenever we do, it comes from Decor by Nature ✨

For us, finishing a project has never been only about completing the work, it’s handing the space back to the family who gets to make it home 🤍

Some of the details that make a project special are the ones you might not notice at first 🤍

A full-height backsplash.
Stone wrapping around the window.
A matching stone sill.
The right amount of overhang for seating.
A waterfall edge that continues the movement of the material.

They may not be the first things you notice when you walk into the room, but together, these decisions have a big impact on how the finished space looks and feels.

That’s one of the things I love about being part of a project like this. Seeing all those little details come together in the final result.

Sometimes, the closer you look, the more there is to love ✨

One detail you might not notice at first…

In this kitchen, Taj Mahal quartzite doesn’t stop at the countertop. The stone continues around the window and into the sill, creating a more seamless and intentional transition throughout the space.

And when you look even closer, there’s another detail hiding in plain sight: the seam was carefully positioned behind the faucet, making it much less noticeable in the finished installation.

These are the kinds of details that can easily go unnoticed when you first look at a finished kitchen, but they make such a difference in the final result.

Sometimes, the closer you look, the more there is to appreciate ✨
