One detail you might not notice at first…

In this kitchen, Taj Mahal quartzite doesn’t stop at the countertop. The stone continues around the window and into the sill, creating a more seamless and intentional transition throughout the space.

And when you look even closer, there’s another detail hiding in plain sight: the seam was carefully positioned behind the faucet, making it much less noticeable in the finished installation.

These are the kinds of details that can easily go unnoticed when you first look at a finished kitchen, but they make such a difference in the final result.

A surprise we love adding to our countertop projects 🤍

Whenever the material allows, we repurpose part of the countertop cutout into a custom cutting board for our clients.
It’s a small detail, but one that brings together so many things we value at CasaChic: thoughtful design, functionality, less waste, and finding ways to make each project feel a little more personal.

And I love that it doesn’t have to stay hidden in a cabinet when it’s not being used. It can become part of the decor.
A piece that carries the same material from your kitchen into another corner of your home.

A waterfall edge can be beautiful, but that doesn’t mean I recommend it for every project.

For me, it makes the most sense when the stone has movement worth showcasing.
In this kitchen, the natural movement of Taj Mahal quartzite continues from the countertop down the side of the island, allowing the material to become part of the architecture instead of simply sitting on top of the cabinetry.

With a more uniform material, I may make a completely different recommendation.
If there isn’t movement to continue, the additional stone and fabrication don’t always create enough visual impact to justify the investment.

That’s why I like to look beyond trends when making design decisions.

The secret is in its undertones.

Taj Mahal has a soft, warm base with subtle beige, cream and golden tones. Instead of competing with the other finishes in a space, it creates a natural bridge between them.

That’s why it pairs so beautifully with warm woods, leather, brass, creamy cabinetry and other warm neutrals, bringing everything together without making the space feel too busy.

And because it’s a natural stone, every slab brings its own movement, depth and character.

One stone.
So many possibilities.

Quartz is known for being low-maintenance, and keeping it looking beautiful can be just as simple.

For everyday cleaning, a soft cloth, warm water, and a mild cleaner are usually all you need. Avoid abrasive products or harsh chemicals that can damage the surface over time.
