A teenage guy in 1975 could be completely broke and still find money for a new carburetor.

He'd spend every paycheck on headers, exhaust pipes, chrome wheels, and anything else that might squeeze a few more horsepower out of that engine.

All because he thought the girls would be impressed.

Meanwhile, the girls were usually more interested in whether the car had a decent radio and somewhere comfortable to sit.

But damn, those cars were beautiful.

The “little table” was basically its own world. 😂 While the adults talked for hours, we had our own food, our own jokes, and probably way more fun.

Somehow Kool-Aid just tasted better back then—especially out of those character glasses with enough sugar to make the spoon stand up. 😂 Simple stuff, but those are the memories that stick.
