Sto's expertise in exterior thermal insulation systems dates back to the early 1960's, when Sto developed the first Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS). Today, building science experts agree that continuous exterior insulation such as EIFS is the most effective way to insulate the building envelope for energy savings. While the terms stucco and EIFS are sometimes used interchangeably, EIFS features insulating properties, among many other additional benefits. In addition to cladding systems, Sto offers many more high performance coatings, fluid applied membrane products for air barriers, moisture barriers and waterproofing protection and facade repair products.

to October 2024 as we revisit a great turn-out from our demonstration in Fort Myers Florida!

Fifteen Sto applicators from 5 different companies – including C Berrera Quality Services, Bradleigh, Advanced Stucco, EIFS Solutions, Procore Technologies and PPD Construction Services - came to learn about how with Sto finishes.

We reviewed installation procedures, how products are used on systems and how to estimate them for projects. Thank you to Greg Payne for his support and providing a clear and concise demonstration – and a permanent installation on the showroom wall!

The StoTherm ci Mineral system is the only fully engineered EIFS system designed around the performance and advantages of mineral wool in the U.S.

Sto offers full facade systems from the sheathing on out. All the control layers: air/ vapor/water, thermal, durability and water-shedding are handled by one source (Sto), ensuring optimum compatibility and continuity of the wall system.

All StoTherm ci systems are suitable for use on non-combustible based on testing in accordance with NFPA 285 and NFPA 268. But the StoTherm ci Mineral system uses non-combustible mineral wool insulation that can withstand temperatures of 2000º F while still resisting fire.

Because mineral wool can handle much higher internal temperatures than foam plastic insulations, there are no limitations on the Light Reflectance Values (LRVs) of exterior surfaces. That means you can choose from a wider range of colors and shades for every exterior - giving you more design flexibility.

The housing estate in Swarovski Street in Wattens connects condensed housing with spacious open spaces. According to the plans of Snøhetta Studio Innsbruck, nine different tall buildings were created with a total of 38 apartments, which are grouped around a publicly accessible, park-like open space.

The facade design also contributes significantly to the character of the ensemble. With StoSignature, individually structured cleaning surfaces were implemented, which give buildings an independent and high-quality material effect.
