The promises we make are either kept or broken by us. 🏛️⚡
We opened our summit with a truth that much of the industry is too afraid to voice. Our keynote speaker, Anisha Steephen, didn't come to offer marketing gloss, she came to offer a reckoning.
As we navigate the "candid chaos" of the clean energy transition, Anisha reminded us that for many, the face of the government isn't a politician in D.C.; it is the person in the room with the paperwork.
Anisha shared a perspective we all needed to hear:
"It is an attack on the idea that black, brown, indigenous, and working-class communities should have a say in how this transition happens... in communities that rightly mistrust government, you are who they see. Not the president, not the governor, not the mayor, but you in the room with a proposal and with paperwork and a timeline and promises that will either be kept or broken."
To Anisha: Thank you. Thank you for your clarity, your courage, and for reminding us that the architecture of equity is built on the integrity of our promises. Your words served as the perfect north star for our day, grounding us in the reality that the "Just Transition" isn't a theory, it’s a commitment we make to the people who have been left out for too long.
We are so deeply grateful for your brilliance and for standing with us in this room.
