Another one complete. 🌮🏗️

This project included a 700 SF addition and full gut renovation, transforming the space into a brand new Mexican restaurant.

Even better, this family started with a food truck and worked their way up to opening their own restaurant. 👏

Our team handled the addition, structural work, dining area buildout, and full commercial kitchen installation to bring their vision to life. 👷🔨

Project Spotlight: Brooklyn Lakeview Empowerment Center Gym Renovation

Our team is excited to share the renovation of the Brooklyn Lakeview Empowerment Center gym. This project meant a lot to us because the gym is a place where kids, families, and the community come together. Helping restore a space that plays such an important role in West Columbia was something we took seriously.

The Center is operated by a nonprofit connected to Brookland Baptist Church, and they are doing real work in the community every day. Creating a brighter, safer, and more welcoming space for the people they serve was a responsibility we were proud to support.

Our scope included:

• Removing damaged materials and preparing the space for new finishes
• Installing new translucent wall panels and white metal exterior panels
• Replacing damaged ceiling panels and painting the entire ceiling
• Painting the full interior of the gym
• Refinishing the gym floor with new game lines and a new center court logo
• Upgrading all lighting to LED
• Installing new bleachers and a new scorer’s table
• Installing new storefront doors
• Installing new basketball goals, including automatic tilt goals

We also included a couple of the before photos so you can see how far the space has come. Seeing this transformation and knowing how many people will enjoy this gym made the project especially meaningful for our team.

We’re proud to have played a part in the transformation of Greg’s Place, a new community space created by , a nonprofit founded by Kassy Alia in honor of her husband, Officer Greg Alia, who lost his life in the line of duty.

Our team completed a full renovation of the existing church to create the new community center — including new windows, flooring, doors, paint, and remodeled bathrooms, along with wall removals, demolition, abatement, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and lighting upgrades throughout the facility.

This project represents what we believe in: building spaces that bring people together.

Seeing the community come together for the grand opening was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

🚧 Project Complete: Chick-fil-A at Winthrop University

Our team delivered a full refurbishment just in time for students returning to campus.

💥 Demolition of walls, tile, and ceilings to open and reconfigure the space
🚰 New plumbing features, clean-outs, and a relocated tea maker line with filtered water
⚡ Electrical upgrades with a new transformer, panels, and outlets to support Chick-fil-A’s proprietary equipment
🛠️ Installation of new hand wash and eye wash stations, reconfigured millwork, and stainless tops
🍴 Set and installed new Chick-fil-A kitchen and service equipment
🖥️ Integrated hands-free ordering stations and updated seating

Every detail was managed start to finish to deliver a refreshed, modern unit built to handle high demand.

We are proud to have completed the build-out for South Carolina’s first AT&T Connected Learning Center at the Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center. Our team revived the existing millwork, refaced cabinets, painted the space, and transformed an old blackboard into a modern whiteboard. We also replaced outdated ceiling tiles and fluorescent lighting with efficient LED lighting and installed new power poles to support the technology needs of the center. Grateful to play a part in bringing this impactful project to life for the community.

While M.E. Contracting primarily focuses on commercial construction, we’re thrilled to share that we are approaching substantial completion on a custom new home build for a client in Columbia, SC! This project has been a rewarding journey, and we’re proud of the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail our team has delivered.
