This summer my wife inherited a bedroom set made from mahogany and poplar, definitely pre-1900. There are no manufacturing stickers or stamps, which makes me think these pieces were made in a local woodworking shop. This table isn't fancy, and was definitely built for function.

I took it apart to inspect. There was a lot of damage, broken pieces and cracks. I found several generations of repair work that had already been done. I repaired the cracks and cleaned it. I didn't change the finish, and put a furniture polish and wax to put some moisture back in the wood, and reassembled. It's now in our living room, ready for a few more generations of use.

So… what have I been working on?

Life got busy. Work, kids, baseball, volunteering … and somehow the shop got a little quieter.

But the projects kept coming.

From custom furniture and woodworking projects to baseball displays and pieces built to honor veterans, there's been a lot happening in the shop.

It's probably time to start showing some of it again. 🪵
