Tommy's career with Gay Construction began in 1990, where he served nearly 35 years as Project Manager. Throughout that time, he worked on many projects affiliated with major institutions such as WinShape Foundation and Boy Scouts of America, but his heaviest involvement was always with his Alma Mater, Georgia Tech. Just before the holiday, we said goodbye to Tommy as he retired from GCC, and we look forward to cheering him on as the new Chair of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees. Congrats Tommy, Go Get ‘Em!

Among other criteria, the Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC) Build Georgia Award recognizes construction projects that demonstrate “excellence in project management and scheduling” and “dedication to client service and customer care.” Congratulations to Project Managers Tommy Herrington and Phil Rutledge for taking the lead on two award-winning jobs last year at the Theatrical Outfit and The Fox Theatre!

In honor of our 75th year in business, Gay Construction had a Family Day outing to Six Flags (before it got too hot!). We rented out a pavilion and enjoyed a picnic lunch before having all-day access to the park. Our president made a point to circle the park and spend a little time with as many families as possible. Safe to say a great time was had by all!

We appreciate all of our employees and the hard work they do everyday - it made it even more fun to celebrate with them!

Family was the focus of this year’s Cobb County Prayer Breakfast. This event takes place every year on the National Day of Prayer. CROFT always participates in this inspirational event and this year was no exception as we listened to Governor Kemp and his family emphasize the importance of "family". The mission is “to join together as a community in prayer for Cobb County, our country, our schools and our families”. We are looking forward to next year’s event.
