Good food. Good people. A pretty great way to spend lunch.

Food Truck Day has become a monthly tradition at AllStar, giving everyone a chance to slow down, grab a plate, and enjoy some time together outside of the day-to-day work.

Because the AllStar Way isn’t just about how we take care of our customers. It’s about how we take care of each other, too.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from this month’s Food Truck Day.

“I never in a million years growing up thought I would be a plumber.”

Chuck didn’t set out with a plan to build AllStar Plumbers. He was trying to provide for his family after getting laid off, and plumbing looked like a good road to take.

Then something changed.

“I was like, man, I’m a plumber. I was meant to be a plumber.”

Today, what makes Chuck proud isn’t simply how much AllStar has grown. It’s the impact the company has had on the people who work here.

“It’s never about me.”

For Chuck, AllStar is about the men and women who show up every day, believe in the company, take pride in what they do, and make this place what it is.

That’s why he’s focused on more than today. He’s focused on building something that lasts.

“I want to take the fourth quarter of making sure this thing is legacy. Making sure it’s generational. Making sure this place continues to make a difference in people’s lives for a long, long time.”

That starts long before the walls go up.

Our new construction crews work behind the scenes to make sure every line, connection, and detail is installed properly from the start. Because what goes into a home today needs to serve the people living there for years to come.

We built the employee center for our people, and seeing how they use it makes it all worth it.

After a 10-hour workday, these guys will come in, hang out with each other for another 30 or 45 minutes, and blow off some steam.

That says a lot.

If you had a bad place to work, you’d park the truck, get in your personal vehicle, and head home.

At AllStar, we sometimes have to tell them, “Y’all got to go home, man.”

We’re proud to create a workplace where people enjoy being around each other, even after a long day.

Some opportunities mean more than a paycheck.

For the last six or seven years, Chuck had the opportunity to work on a truck alongside his oldest son, who served as his lead man.

His son would tell him where they were digging, which lines they were running, and what needed to get done. Chuck’s answer was always simple: “I got you.”

Getting to spend those years working side by side with his son is something Chuck will never forget.

“I’m a blessed dude. Ain’t no doubt about it.”

That gratitude is something he carries with him, along with a promise to make a difference in the lives of the people around him.

Taking care of your people can look like a lot of things. Sometimes, it looks like lunch.

Once a month, we bring a food truck to the office tso that we can get together as a team for lunch. It’s a chance to step away from the job for a little while, grab some good food, and spend time together.

It's those moments we get to share together as a team that matter most.

Some people knew him as Earl. Most of us knew him as “Pops.”

Chuck’s dad, Pops, wore many hats at AllStar over the years, officially serving as our Warehouse Manager for many years. He was part of the AllStar family and left a lasting impact on the people around him.

In his memory, AllStar will be closed on Thursday, September 10 as we honor the Robinson family.

Visitation will be held from 1:30–3:30 PM at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, followed by the funeral at 3:30 PM. Graveside services will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

We are grateful for the years we had with Pops and the many ways he helped shape AllStar. He will be deeply missed.
