Where’d all the water go?!

Hot temps, direct sunlight, wind, and even running your pool features can cause your water level to drop — especially here in the summer.

A little water loss is normal, but if you’re adding water constantly or losing more than expected, it’s worth having your pool checked for a leak.

After searching for 2 hours on this above ground pool, we found no signs of a leak. We were told it was down around an inch and half and water hadn’t been added in 14 days. We did the math and determined the loss of close to an inch and a half over 14 days was around 0.1 inch a day. We calculated that where the pool is located the daily evaporation rate is 0.2 inch a day given the temperatures were in the high 80s and even low 90s. We explained this to the customers and let them know to keep an eye on it, top it off once a week and if dropped significantly more than the expected evaporation then we would be happy to come back out!
