When Taylor Plumley joined our firm last summer, she brought six years of industry experience, a strong foundation in design, and a clear desire to grow.

From our earliest conversations, Taylor expressed an interest in gaining deeper construction administration experience, more opportunities in the field, and greater project-management responsibility.

Her timing could not have been better. Taylor joined our team just as Venture X Brambleton entered construction and was quickly immersed in a construction drawings set she had not helped develop. She learned the documentation, took on submittals, navigated construction questions, and became a trusted technical resource for the team. By project closeout, she had developed a thorough command of the work and supported the project team with the confidence of someone involved from the beginning.

Over the past year, Taylor has continued to demonstrate technical expertise, rigorous attention to detail, and a growing command of code. She takes ownership by asking the right questions, digging into the details, and steadily expanding her role in coordinating project teams and managing work alongside our project managers.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Taylor Plumley’s promotion from Project Designer to Assistant Project Manager.

This promotion recognizes the level at which she is already contributing. Taylor has all the makings of an exceptional project manager, and we can’t wait to see her continue to grow into one.

In January 2023, Abigail Lipton sent us a message on Instagram.

She had just graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Environmental Studies and was exploring a transition into interior design. She wasn’t asking for a job, just a conversation about what it might take to learn and grow in the field.

From our very first video call, Abby stood out.

She had already researched the path to becoming an NCIDQ-certified Interior Designer. She understood the commitment required to pivot into the profession, and she showed up with thoughtful questions, genuine curiosity, and a clear eagerness to learn.

At the time, Whitsitt Interiors + Architecture was only a year old.
Six months later, Abby became our very first hire.

Over the past three years, she has grown alongside our firm, balancing full-time project work while continuing her education in the evenings through UC Berkeley’s accredited Certificate Program in Interior Design.

Abby has helped create beautiful, high-performing environments for our clients while embodying the growth mindset and initiative we value at Whitsitt IA.

We’re Growing. Here’s Why That Matters.
Since our founding in 2021, Whitsitt Interiors + Architecture has had one goal: to exceed expectations. As clients discovered the value of our design expertise, hands‑on approach, and transparent process, they began asking us to go the distance—trusting us with work in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Illinois, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida, taking our impact well beyond the DMV.

Today, Whitsitt IA is a multidisciplinary practice that brings clarity and discipline to complex commercial and institutional projects. We guide clients through tough design decisions, align teams, and deliver high‑performance environments that endure over time.

What started as a small studio has evolved into an integrated architecture and interiors firm with sustained demand for thoughtful, highly coordinated work. Our clients and partners continue to trust us with larger, more complex projects and multi‑location engagements. That long‑term confidence is the reason we’re growing—not just in size, but in responsibility, reach, and ambition.

As we continue to grow, we're investing in the people, systems, and processes that allow us to deliver exceptional outcomes while creating meaningful opportunities for professional development and leadership.

Inside the studio, that growth shows up in expanding roles and promotions. Our team members are stepping into greater responsibility, mentoring others, and shaping our culture every day. We’re intentional about building our team and defining clear career paths and opportunities, not just projects.

As we embark on our fifth year in practice, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next. Over the past four years, each project, partnership, and team member has helped shape Whitsitt IA into the firm we are today—a firm that brings clarity through complexity, is guided by experience, and acts as an advisor in both practice and partnership.

The momentum we’ve built reflects both the people behind our work and the clients who trust us to bring clarity to their complex design decisions.

As we approach our five-year milestone, we’re refining our brand to reflect that evolution. In the year ahead, we’ll introduce a refreshed website experience that better reflects our culture, showcases our work and expertise, and signals where we’re headed next.
