Try this quick check:
1️⃣ Turn off faucets and water-using appliances. Make sure sprinklers aren’t running.
2️⃣ Find your meter, often in a box near the street, and note the reading or look for a small leak indicator.
3️⃣ Leave water off for an hour or two, then check again.

If the reading changes while everything is off, water may be flowing somewhere on your property. Check toilets and irrigation first; if you can’t find the cause, a licensed plumber can help track it down. Don’t force the meter lid or touch utility valves.
