Some great jobs on the go. This 40 year old plain Jane kitchen was transformed into a euro style modern masterpiece by the guys. Oversized slab doors were made in house to minimize gaps, a floating shelf system was added to the blind corner, soft close hinges and gorgeous stainless pulls really completed the look.

Had a couple of great jobs in the mid-coast this fall. The first was a complete game changer for the customer. The 80's definitely wanted these beaded, antiqued cabinets back so we replaced all of the doors, added new hardware, removed the unused wine and plate racks and really gave this seaside galley a brand new look. All of us here are Cabinet Craft trust that everyone is doing well. We have not had many posts (mostly because Jake left us to go back to college) but we have been busy!

I had a customer ask what tannins are. Well, tannins are the natural dyes that plants make and give the wood its color just as tannins coloring tea or wine. They are a problem for cabinets because our water based finished reactivate the dye and they "bleed" through our primers and finishes. This can be a real nightmare for the guys and require additional steps to block them from coming through.
This door front is a great example.

Another great jobs in the books before vacation time! Thank you Lauren for trusting the crew to renew the old, grungy and ni****ne stained cabinets in your new home. This job included special blockers to stop ni****ne stains from bleeding through, replacement of the old hinges with soft-close concealed hinges and an accent color on the island.

The 90's called the Arnault's and said we love your new counter top, but can we have your Golden Oak Cabinets back?

These folks called because their kitchen has stuck in a time warp. Their updated appliances, new floor, and quartz countertop just didn't go with their golden oak and polished brass wrap hinges any longer.

So, we converted all of their doors to Blum soft close concealed hinges, new hardware, and a sleek, modern white.

Thanks to Carol and the crew for another great job! Carol's Kitchen was, as she described, cobbled together 20 years ago from an outlet store.

Well, now, she "loves, loves, loves" it! A light gray base, stove blacked range hood and the most elegant black pulls on the uppers really make this cozy kitchen pop.

Great job by the crew to transform Joanne's kitchen in Wells last week. Joanne wanted to remove the soffets over the cabinets and the valance over the sink as well as add seating to the island.

That's a tall order for a tight budget with a soffet removal quote or $3,000, we convinced her to add trim and make it a huge crown moulding at a fraction of the cost.

We also removed 2 small cabinets from under the island to create seating without replacing the top.

Not to mention replacing all of the top doors to create a more modern look.

Had a great question while out doing a quote the other day. Will the grain of my oak cabinets stand out too much and should I have your team fill it?

Here is probably the deepest grain that I have seen and light grain for comparison. It's simply a matter of how much character you want.

We would like to thank Cindy for trusting Cabinet Craft to renew her beach house's kitchen. The crew did a great job of repairing and resetting all of the drawers, filling and redrilling all 52 panels for new hardware, and repairing poorly fit and finished moldings and trim.

Next we will be adding a butcherblock extension to the island and repainting the dining room table, so stay tuned!
