At Bison Hardwood, we specialize in hardwood (and softwood) products of all sorts, including raw lumber, custom moulding packages, flooring, and flooring installation materials. Our home office and mill is located in Arlee, Montana, uniquely situated such that we can readily service towns from Darby, Montana up to Eureka, Montana, as well as outlying areas such as Thompson Falls and the I-90 corridor (from Rapid City, SD to Coeur d’Alene, ID!). We service all of Montana including: Belgrade, Bozeman, Butte, Billings, Helena, Great Falls, the Greater Yellowstone region, and Dillon. We have also provided products to a variety of states across the country including, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, California, Nevada, Nebraska, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and more!

We are looking for a full-time Administrative Office & Inventory Clerk to join our team in Arlee.

This position includes answering phones, assisting customers and vendors, taking accurate messages, basic computer/data entry work, filing, email support, and helping with inventory tracking and counts.

The right person should be dependable, organized, professional, comfortable working at a computer, and willing to step into the warehouse/shop environment as needed.

Competitive pay depending on experience. Benefits are available after the probationary period and may include retirement, paid time off, and insurance benefits.

Straight out of the moulder, not quite done yet, but this circle-sawn white oak is already showing off what makes it special for you.

Customers find that most textured flooring has a little groove between boards. Why? Because in order for flooring to come together and feel level, that groove allows for a bit of give.

Now, is that a problem? Not if that’s the look you’re going for.

But we hear it all the time. That groove can turn into a dust catch, and for some folks, it just doesn’t match the clean look they had in mind.

Take a closer look here. You can see the texture doing its job, and the edges are square-edged instead of opening up into a groove.

That’s the difference.

Our process for adding texture and moulding gives us the precision to offer a “no groove” look, if that’s what you want. No compromises, just a clean, refined finish.

At the end of the day, it’s about what you want, not the limitations of what we can do.

For years we’ve been members of the National Wood Flooring Association…and been going to their national convention. This year, Buckeye is taking the next step and will be displaying our products at the convention!

What a lot of people don’t realize, while we’ve served Montana for the last 30 years, we’ve also served much of the country.

Our work can be found from coast to coast, from the Blair House (the guest house at the White House) and New York City to private homes in Oregon and commercial projects in California, and everywhere in between (Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and more).

We are excited to take this step towards building to the next level.

UPDATE: We had a correct guess! This is THERMALLY MODIFIED RED OAK. We’ll start diving a little more into what that means in the coming weeks - but it is a non-chemical “baking” process to remove the moisture from the wood (simplist terms).

As we’re prepping for the upcoming National Wood Flooring Association convention - we’ve had a chance to look at some newer options we have.

I did this in the past - and got some great guesses - does anyone know what kind of wood this is!? And NO - it doesn’t have a stain on it.
