A wellfield project is a water infrastructure development designed to expand and support the local drinking water supply for homes and businesses throughout the surrounding area.💧
Our Greene County Wellfield Project specifically includes three wells that operate autonomously, requiring very little day-to-day attention from an operator.
You may notice that wellfields are often located in low-lying or flood-prone areas where other types of infrastructure or vegetation may not be practical. Because of this, the equipment responsible for monitoring and ensuring the wells operate properly is strategically positioned on higher ground, safely above the floodplain.
While a wellfield may not look like much from the outside, what happens beneath the surface is incredibly important. These projects play a vital role in providing a safe, reliable water supply to the homes, businesses, and communities we rely on every day.👏🏽
