Concrete work begins long before the first mixer arrives.

One of the most critical parts of any successful pour is the ground preparation underneath it. From proper grading and compaction to moisture control and base material, every layer matters. If the ground conditions aren’t right, the concrete above it won’t perform the way it was designed to.

MJI Building Services spent countless hours preparing this site the right way — often doing work that will never be seen now that the slab is poured. It takes planning, experience, communication, and attention to detail to make sure the finished product is built to last.

At the end of the day, good concrete isn’t just about the pour itself — it’s about everything that happens beforehand.

In Wisconsin, MJI Building Services doesn't just build, we negotiate with Mother Nature!!!

6 months out of the year (give or take a surprise snow in April… or October… or both), construction feels like a full-time job… and weather forecasting is the side hustle.

Rain, wind, frost laws, road limits—you name it, we’ve planned for it. And when the forecast changes faster than an Irish goodbye, we adjust, pivot, and keep things moving forward.

At MJI Building Services, staying ahead of the weather isn’t luck—it’s teamwork, preparation, and a whole lot of adaptability. Because around here, every passing cloud is just another opportunity to prove we can build through anything.

MJI Building Services woke up in a snow globe. And, not one of those hallmark ones either. Its like a toddler got a hold of the snow globe while attempting to run away from their chasing parent, giggling like a maniac, and tripping over all the toys in the house.
We will be back tomorrow once we clean up this mess!

It's a great day to have a great day!
Here at MJI Building Services, March is a month to be thankful and proud. Not only proud of the work we are trusted and blessed to be doing, but also of our team who make it all possible!

Please join us in wishing a VERY Happy Birthday to Andrew Sanchez, James Ver Voort, and Laura Matuszak, A VERY Happy Work Anniversary to Brian Van Boxtel and Tim Young (9 years for the both of them!!), AND a VERY warm welcome to our new Project Manager, John Bishop & Site Superintendent Corey Kaufmann!
We are also one month closer to bringing Dustin Reilly home from military service!
