It’s still been plenty hot, but those cooler mornings are starting to feel like fall. Are you still swimming?

After-the-Storm Pool Check! 💦

That was a lot of rain—especially after such a long dry spell! Once the lightning has passed and it is safe to go outside, give your pool a little attention:

✅ Remove leaves, limbs, and other debris from the pool, skimmer baskets, and pump basket.

✅ Check the water level. If it is too high, lower it to the proper level—but do not drain too much water from the pool.

✅ Keep the pump circulating.

✅ Check the filter pressure. Backwash a sand filter or clean the cartridge if the pressure is higher than normal.

✅ Brush the pool to move dirt and debris toward the filter and prevent algae from getting started.

✅ Test the water after it has circulated. Heavy rain can dilute chlorine and affect pH and alkalinity. Add shock if the chlorine is low or the water begins looking cloudy.

If you are unsure what your pool needs, bring us a water sample after it has circulated—we’ll be happy to test it and help you get everything back on track!

We’re open Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon!

Labor Day Weekend Hours

We will be closed Saturday, September 5th through Monday, September 7th, and will reopen Tuesday, September 8.

Be sure to stop by no later than Friday for the chemicals, floats, toys, and poolside essentials you need for a long weekend filled with football, family, and poolside fun!

Labor Day may be called the “unofficial end of summer,” but here in Alabama, we know better—it’s still HOT, the pools are still warm, we have plenty of fresh chemicals and there is plenty of swimming season left! 😎

We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun Labor Day weekend!
