Thank you to Faces of Annapolis for spotlighting Walnut Hill and our founder, Michael Prokopchak!
For more than 20 years, we’ve had the privilege of creating and caring for beautiful landscapes. Every project reflects the craftsmanship of our team and the trust of our clients.
We’re proud to share our story, and grateful to everyone who has been part of it.

The landscape industry has been part of Michael Procopchak's life since he was 13 years old, working for a nursery in Davidsonville. Armed with a degree in landscape architecture, Mike founded Walnut Hill Landscape Company more than 30 years ago to provide unparallelled design, installation, and maintenance for distinctive homes throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the Eastern Shore.

Known for its artistry and craftsmanship, Walnut Hill brings together visionary design and meticulous ex*****on, from their creation of timeless cottage gardens and historic restorations to modern outdoor living spaces and expansive, park-like estates. Mike's team of landscape architects, designers, and skilled craftsmen work collaboratively with clients and design professionals to deliver seamless, enduring results.

Walnut Hill’s dedicated landscape management division ensures each property continues to thrive, preserving its beauty over time.

Guided by its core values—desire, craft, and experience—Walnut Hill creates landscapes that live beautifully, evolve gracefully, and inspire for generations.

On September 11, 2001, our nation was forever changed. Today, we remember the lives lost, the families who carry their memory, and the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and countless others who answered the call to serve.

Walnut Hill Landscape Company is deeply honored to have played a part in creating the Anne Arundel County 9/11 Memorial in Millersville, which incorporates two steel beams recovered from the World Trade Center.

Our design team led by Michael Prokopchak donated their time to help design the memorial, and Walnut Hill donated landscape and construction services to help bring it to life alongside Anne Arundel County and other members of our community.

Twenty-five years later, this memorial continues to be a place where our community gathers to remember, reflect, and honor those whose lives were forever changed that day.

We are proud to have helped create something that will continue telling their story for generations.

We will never forget.
