Often the focal point of a room, a fireplace should do more than simply provide warmth. It should draw you in, invite you to linger, and create a space where you want to gather and unwind. 🔥

Previously, this fireplace had undergone a DIY makeover. In an effort to move away from traditional red brick, the homeowners whitewashed the brick and added a simple mantel. While it was a step in the right direction, we knew this fireplace had so much more potential.

We completely reimagined the design, transforming it from floor to ceiling into a beautiful architectural feature that feels both elegant and timeless.

The result ~ A stunning focal point that brings warmth, character, and sophistication to the room, and one that will be enjoyed for years to come.

This walk-out basement family room in our clients 1960s home was designed to bring back mid-century modern design era with its retro style and vibrant colors. What we ended up with is a cozy and warm space with a fireplace as a focal point on one side and home office space on the other side of the room, creating a multi-purpose room with a short walk to the backyard garden and patio. We reused and restyled clients retro tile insert tables that were gifted to her by her late stepmother, perfectly blending them into this new room. Ana Djevenica 📷 and styling

The large red artwork sets the whole mood ~ bold up close, calming from the sofa, it gives the room its heartbeat. Beside it, the arc lamp curves in like a quiet sculpture, pooling soft light exactly where you land at the end of the day. Everything else steps back: pale linen, gentle light through the drapes, nothing asking for attention. Serenity, with a pulse.

Come a little closer…do you see a candle twinkle! ✨ Old perfectly blends with the new in this midcentury modern inspired reading room by day, a guest-receiving room by evening, and a get-away-from-everyone room whenever you need it. Client’s vintage midcentury chairs and footstools once belonged to her grandmother ~ she wanted to keep them alive in memory of her, so we worked with a local upholstery shop and gave them a fabulous refresh in sage green and golden plush fabric that now bring calm to this room. Styled with clients wall art and family photographs, this room is ready to be enjoyed on many levels.

A sitting room made for lingering ~ light breeze, good company, nowhere else to be.

This little corner gets the best light in the whole condo ~ morning sun, city views, and a banquette deep enough to sink into with a second cup of coffee. The blue built-in hides a mountain of storage, the brass chandelier keeps things glowing after dark, and that forest-print shade? Basically art you can pull down.
Small spaces, big main-character energy. 💙

Some projects just feel like home from the very first sketch. This Alexandria 2 bedroom condo was one of them.

We designed a living room made for slow mornings, a dining nook with a custom banquette that’s already hosted its fair share of dinner parties, a home office that makes working from home feel like a treat, and a bar cabinet worth toasting to.

Warm textures, layered lighting, and pieces chosen to be lived with ~ that’s the kind of interior that never goes out of style.

Thinking about a refresh of your own? My schedule is open. Let’s talk. 🤍

This high-rise dining nook in Alexandria took its cues from the view outside and rows of red-brick facades which gave us inspiration to create this loft style look that reminds of NY City.

We wanted the space to feel classic and handsome, yet warm and livable by layering rich teal cabinetry, tailored upholstery, aged brass, warm leather, and a traditional patterned roman shade against the more modern lines of the furniture.

The result is a cozy dining nook that feels sophisticated without being precious ~ beautiful to look at, but designed to be enjoyed every day.

From dated and tired to timeless and tailored. ✨

This early 1800s Old Town Alexandria home bathroom transformation started with a complete gut renovation; opening the walls, reworking the layout, and rebuilding the space from the inside out. We traded the old tub surround for a beautiful marble walk-in shower, added custom built-in cabinetry for much-needed storage, and carried the original black-and-white character forward with a new patterned floor.

Polished nickel fixtures, warm wood, classic marble, and thoughtful architectural details give the finished space a collected feel that looks as though it has always belonged in this home.
