In 2026, winter didn’t just leave quietly—it left its mark.

Those bronzed, brittle edges on boxwoods, arborvitae and any of the misc. broadleaf evergreen shrubs in your landscape . That’s winter burn—a result of wind, sun, and dehydration, not necessarily plant death.

And here’s the mistake we see too often:
Rushing to rip everything out.

In many cases, the plant is still very much alive beneath the damage.

At Cross River Design, our approach is disciplined and precise:
• We wait for the spring flush to reveal what’s truly viable
• We selectively prune to restore structure and density
• We reshape—not replace—whenever possible

The result? Healthier plants, preserved maturity, and a landscape that recovers faster—and more beautifully—than starting over.

Winter damage doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch.
It’s an opportunity to refine, correct, and elevate the landscape.

If your property is showing signs of winter burn, now is the time to act—strategically.

What’s left behind often goes unnoticed—but look closer.

Sweetgum seed pods, frozen in time, reveal a different kind of beauty: raw, sculptural, and dramatic in the stillness of the season.

Just because it’s subtle doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful.

At Cross River Design, we design landscapes that speak in every season—even in the quiet ones...

🎄 On the road to spreading holiday cheer!
This stunning evergreen was loaded up yesterday by our one and only Steve Dandeo, and delivered to the historic Prallsville Mills in Stockton yesterday morning, just in time for the Tree Lighting celebration.
We are honored to help keep this cherished community tradition alive—delivering the perfect tree to light up the season for everyone to enjoy.
Bundle up and check out the decorated tree in all its glory on the front lawn of the Prallsville Mills along the Delaware River in Stockton.
