Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon)

The blades are a grey-green color and are short, usually 0.79–5.91 in. long with rough edges. The erect stems can grow 0.39–11.81 in tall. The stems are slightly flattened.

It has a deep root system; in drought situations with penetrable soil, the root system can grow to over 6 ft deep, though most of the root mass is less than 24 in. under the surface. The grass creeps along the ground with its stolons and roots wherever a node touches the ground, forming a dense mat. Bermuda reproduces through seeds, stolons, and rhizomes. Growth begins at temperatures above 60 °F with optimum growth between 75 and 99 °F; in winter, the grass becomes dormant and turns brown. Growth is promoted by full sun and re****ed by full shade, e.g., close to tree trunks.

This garden favorite is truly a shrub to behold! Encore Azaleas are a series of hybrids that bloom Spring, Summer, and Fall. They grow idealy in 4-6 hours of direct sunlight with some shade in the afternoon heat. It is best to amend any soil before planting by adding acidic soils such as azalea mix or rose bedding mix. Oakleaf Hydrangeas (Hydrangea quercifolia)-

This white blooming, dramatic shrub is the perfect addition to your landscape! It is one of the few Hydrangeas native to the untied states and provides attraction all year. These hydrangea shrubs bloom in spring and early summer. The panicle flowers are greenish-white when they are young, picking up subtle shades of pink and brown as they age. After new flowers stop coming, the blooms stay on the plant and look lovely as they mature.
A tremendous advantage of the Oakleaf is that it can thrive in much dryer locations than its cousins. It needs an area with some sun and well drained soil and grows 10 ft tall by 8 ft wide

All dressed up and no where to go...
Spring is here and beautiful, but Covid-19 has caused the temporary suspension of all landscape projects here at True Vine Landscape Design and Maintenance. Materials such as mulch and annuals have been postponed for at least two weeks. Our routine maintenance however, is still in full operation. We will be offering our mowing services along with any other maintenance services we can still provide. Please contact us if you would like to have your lawn mowed or have any questions about continued operations. Thank you and may God bless and protect you during this time of uncertainty.
