Our team at O|X Studio is proud to be part of the design of JD’s Stage Bistro, a new world-class music venue, bistro, and event space backed by actor Jeff Daniels. This project has been thoughtfully designed to honor Chelsea’s character while delivering an exceptional acoustic experience, vibrant gathering spaces, and a place where community and creativity come together.

We’re honored to help bring this vision to life and can’t wait to see the space buzzing with energy when it opens in May 2026.

JD's Stage Bistro in Chelsea is being designed for intimate live music performances with a 180-square-foot stage.

Originally designed by Robert Metcalf in 1964, this 4,500 SF hillside residence is a prototypical Ann Arbor Midcentury Modern home.

Our renovation honors Metcalf’s original vision while introducing modern comforts - an expanded kitchen, ensuite primary suite, exercise room, and indoor swim spa. Original windows were replaced in kind with sleek black frames, and extended soffits and cove lighting create a seamless, unified feel.

The home envelope was modernized through a new air barrier that improves the energy performance and reduces air leakage by 80%.

Progress is rolling along on the Volvo Building! The Curtain wall glazing is officially installed, and the entry portal is now in place, waiting to welcome customers in a few short weeks.
