We’ve got an exciting update on the bin project that we posted last week!

After getting it moved to the new location and set on the concrete pad at the barndominium property, the guys got to work. They cut the bin, set the support posts, and carved out the entryway and windows. The structure is coming together and it is already looking like the coolest hangout spot around.

Heath and his crew were out taking care of a full chimney removal, waterproofing, and shingle replacement on this home. They stripped it down, got the roof membrane laid in, and finished it off with a clean set of new shingles. This is the kind of job that doesn’t look like much from the street when it’s done, but the homeowner knows everything is watertight for the upcoming storms and rain.

This is just a small portion of a larger job at this project site. Stay tuned for a lot more progress photos!

It’s finally Friday and this exterior overhaul project is coming together nicely. ASMR videos of the painting process are just a plus!

The crew swapped out 40+ pieces of damaged or rotting siding and trim, installed two exterior doors, pressure washed, caulked, and gave the whole exterior a fresh coat on both the siding and trim. While they were at it, they knocked out some ridge cap and shingle repairs on the roof too. Rock is on its way for the garage and gutters are going on today!

Every quality finish starts with the structure. Before we can open up this basement and turn it into a finished hobby room, the support beams needed to be stronger so we could remove some posts and open up the space.

Dawson and Heath altered the original wood beam by adding steel plates sandwiched between the 2x12 plys. This is called a flinch plate beam system. Now that we’ve got that done, we can move forward with framing, electrical, drywall, and polished concrete flooring.

This is the kind of work most people never see, but it is what makes everything else possible. Stay tuned because this one is going to be a great before and after.

Moving day for this bin! We loaded it up, hauled it over to the barndominium property, and now the real work begins putting it back together into something special. Renomads and the owner have big plans for this one and it’ll be the hangout spot people dream about.

A few years back, we helped give the Yankee Clipper Bar and Grill an exterior facelift. Recently they called us back to freshen things up.

The fascia and supports got sanded down, a board was replaced, and everything was sealed with a high quality clear topcoat. We also resealed the original Blacksmithing sign on the side of the building while we were at it. (See the history of Yankee Clipper on the plaque under the sign the next time you visit!)
