Cambron Electric installed a 22kW Generac whole-home standby generator paired with a 325-gallon LP gas tank to provide reliable backup power for this home when utility outages occur.

As part of the project, we upgraded the home’s electrical service by replacing the existing meter base combo with a standard meter base and installing a new grounding system that includes two ground rods and an intersystem bonding jumper for improved safety and code compliance.

The installation also included a Generac Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), which now serves as the home’s main service disconnect. To accommodate the existing branch circuits, we installed a new 200A main breaker, 40-space Siemens outdoor panel and relocated all circuits from the old meter base combo.

To help manage generator loads efficiently, we installed a Generac Smart Management Module (SMM) for the air-conditioning system. Since the A/C unit is one of the home’s largest electrical loads, the SMM temporarily delays the A/C from starting during a power outage. This allows the generator to bring essential household circuits online first, then automatically restores power to the A/C once the generator is ready to handle the additional load.

Another project underway! We prepared this outdoor shed location by utilizing an existing underground wire run that had previously supplied a 240V well pump. Our team tapped into a 20A, 120V circuit and repurposed the abandoned underground pathway to provide power for the new shed installation. The new circuit is GFCI protected for added safety and code compliance, providing reliable power for the shed’s future electrical needs.

BIG NEWS FROM CAMBRON ELECTRIC

Today is a special day for Cambron Electric! We are excited to announce that Dakota is officially full-time with Cambron Electric. 🎉

This has been a decision covered in prayer, and after much thought and seeking God’s direction, we felt called to take this leap of faith. Leaving the comfort of a steady paycheck wasn’t an easy choice, but we trust the One who called us to it.

We are incredibly grateful for every customer who has trusted us with their homes, businesses, and electrical projects. Your support has helped make this moment possible, and we don’t take that for granted.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same: providing honest, reliable, and quality electrical service to our community.

This homeowner needed a safer and more convenient way to power their pool pump. We relocated an existing outdoor outlet and installed a new GFCI-protected receptacle designed for the job. We also replaced a worn front porch outlet while we were there.
