We’re proud to be underway at HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital in Summerville, SC! This is an exciting milestone for our team and an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a place that matters so much to the community.

Working in a healthcare environment comes with a unique responsibility. Through a phased renovation of existing hospital spaces, our Lowcountry team will help create improved environments for the doctors, nurses, staff, and patients who rely on this facility every day.

Meet Jon Willette, Project Executive at J. Davis.

His career has taken him through a lot of projects, clients, and communities — but some have stayed with him for reasons that have nothing to do with the plans or the finished building.

One of those was Mountain View Veterinary Svcs that he helped build for a couple who wanted to serve their community.

For Jon, that project was a reminder of what this work is really about.

Yes, we build buildings. We manage schedules, solve problems, coordinate teams, and work through the countless details it takes to bring a project to life.

But at the end of the day, those buildings become something much bigger.

They become businesses someone poured their heart into. Places where people receive care. Schools where kids learn. Spaces that serve families and communities for years to come.

And sometimes, getting to be a small part of someone else's vision — knowing what that place will mean to them and to the people they serve — is what makes the work matter.

Our Talent Acquisition Specialist, Amy Ruby, had the opportunity to join University’s 2026 Fall Career Fair and spend the day talking with students about careers in construction, what life at J. Davis looks like, and the many paths a career in this industry can take.

A flag can be a simple symbol, but sometimes it carries a whole lot of meaning.

This October, our Estimating Team raised the breast cancer awareness flag at our office as a small reminder of something much bigger: the people we know, love, work alongside, and stand beside who have been affected by breast cancer.

We’re proud to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to stand together in support of awareness, early detection, treatment, survivors, and those still fighting.

A fresh face for a familiar place.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help bring new life to the Fidelity Bank branch in Greenville, SC. From a refreshed front façade to a complete interior reconfiguration, this renovation was about making the space feel more current, functional and welcoming for the people who use it every day.

The project included improvements to the teller line, a new ATM, relocating the vault door, reconfiguring interior rooms and bringing the existing space up to date — all while working within the framework of a place that was already part of the community.

Thankful to Fidelity Bank for trusting our team with the work, and to everyone who helped bring this transformation to life.

What a day on the green! ⛳️

Our J. Davis team had a great time at the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, bringing together teammates from across our divisions — and our JDI Industrial Services team — for a day of golf, co****le, conversation and plenty of laughs.

Adam Duncan represented our Business Development division, while Amy M. Ruby, Brad Mull and Jennifer Woodring held down the J. Davis booth. And the co****le competition got a little more serious when Jarret Duncan took home the win — and a new cooler backpack to prove it!

It was a fun way to support and promote both J. Davis and JDI Industrial while spending time with the people and community around us. Thanks to the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce for bringing everyone together. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

We’re grateful to celebrate Ken Melvoen’s promotion to Director of Field Services at J. Davis.

Nearly seven years ago, Ken joined our team, with the Metro Target project in Athens, Georgia, serving as his first project with J. Davis — and the project that started it all.

Since then, Ken has continued to grow alongside the company, bringing experience, leadership, and a genuine commitment to the people around him to every project and every team he’s been part of. His journey is a great example of what can happen when hard work, trust, and opportunity come together.

We’re proud to see our people grow into new opportunities, and even more grateful when those opportunities come from within our own team.

The vision for the Cullasaja Club Activity Center is becoming easier to see with every update.

New timber framing is taking shape for the covered deck, while work below is underway to fortify the structure and safely support the new deck addition. Inside, the new fireplace has been framed, giving us an even better sense of how this space will come together.

Piece by piece, the details are beginning to paint a picture of what’s ahead — a place to gather, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the North Carolina mountains.
