Here are a few progress pics of the basement we are in process of finishing!

This customer wanted to add a bedroom in their basment. For this to be considered a “legal” bedroom, we had to install an egress window, allowing the basement’s occupants to escape in an emergency situation. In order to make this bedroom as big as possible, we had to completely modify the existing hvac trunk line and supply ducts.

Getting power to this bedroom was quite the task. We rewired the entire basement, bringing all of the electrical components up to code. We added new LED lighting throughout, and installed 12 new outlets (there were only 3 previously). Before, there were multiple junction boxes, a ton of outdated wiring, and quite a few code violations.

What a fun day..

We started a basement remodel last week. Part of the job consisted of creating a laundry room. In order to create the laundry room, we had to relocate the water heater, and softener. In the midst of moving those items, the homeowner chose to go ahead and repipe the entire home (excluding the second story bathroom).
Today, we had the pleasure of cutting out old galvanized water lines, pex, copper, and polybutelene. We installed a new 50gal water heater, moved the softener, and replumbed all of the water lines with pex starting at the main.

Buttoned up this job today! We were originally hired to replace some pest- damaged cedar siding on this potting shed, but as we dug into it, we uncovered a lot more than anticipated. 😱

The three existing skylights were installed completely wrong, and had been leaking for years, which destroyed the decking underneath.

The original window installer had cut the nailing fl**ge off the window in order to get it to fit in the opening. This allowed any water that got behind the cedar trim and siding to rot the subsiding and studs in the wall.

The pests eating away at the cedar siding, along with the roof issue, and the incorrectly installed window turned into a lot of extra work on this potting shed!

But, we were are able to replace the studs and subsiding, installed some new cedar siding and trim boards, installed a new Chateau green asphalt roof, and finsihed it off with new gutters to help keep excess water off this beautiful potting shed.

Need a new bathtub? We’ve got you covered!

This week we removed this one piece, molded unit, and replaced it with a new Sterling Ensemble 4-piece tub and shower surround.

The old unit had a hole in the bottom which was allowing moisture to wick up the walls, and underneath the floor in the bathroom. Unfortunately, we had to remove the existing flooring as well and let the whole bathroom dry out before we could set the tub and get things finished up.

Once the bathroom dried out we set the tub, and walls, fit the shower valve, installed new vinyl plank flooring, and reinstalled the existing trim!
