It was standing room only at today’s Alaska Resources Gubernatorial Forum!

AGC of Alaska was proud to join our fellow trade associations in co-hosting today’s forum at the Dena’ina Center, bringing Alaska’s resource and business communities together to hear directly from the four gubernatorial candidates. (Alaska Resource Development Council)

For Alaska’s construction industry, the decisions made by our next governor will have a direct impact on the projects we build, the people we employ, and the communities we serve. Opportunities like today’s forum give our members and industry partners a chance to hear directly from candidates about their priorities for Alaska’s economy, resource development, infrastructure and the issues affecting businesses across our state.

Two words: PACKED. HOUSE. 😳

Yesterday AGC partnered with APEX Accelerator and the US Army Corps of Engineers for an Industry Day presentation on the upcoming $7 billion Fightertown project in Alaska.

Attendees heard directly from the teams involved in planning and delivering the Fightertown program, with discussion on project phasing, contracting, upcoming opportunities and what contractors need to know as this significant investment moves forward.

This is what AGC is all about: getting our members in the room, connecting contractors directly with project owners and decision-makers, and making sure Alaska’s construction industry has a seat at the table as major projects take shape.

Thank you to USACE, our presenters and panelists, and everyone who joined us today. Judging by the packed room, Alaska’s construction industry is ready for what’s ahead in Alaska.

Earlier this month, AGC members took over Birchwood Shooting Range for our annual Sporting Clays Shoot, a full day of friendly competition, good food and some seriously impressive shooting.

Congratulations to our TOP THREE teams: Turnagain Marine (410 points), KC Corp (405 points), and Spenard Builders Supply (403 points), and John Carlson, who broke a three-way tie with Aaron Milnes and John Martin to be this year’s Top Shooter with 97 points!
