The PM/Estimator is responsible for producing budgets and detailed estimates on a wide variety of demolition contracts for commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. The estimator will work closely with operations staff on a regular basis to ensure project planning follows project estimate and budgetary guidelines. Position offers a base salary and commission.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Estimating
• Solicit, bid, and close demolition and abatement contracts for commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. Target revenues to be discussed
• Estimate and prepare all proposals; Work in conjunction with operations to ensure detailed estimates are prepared
• Assist with prioritizing, answering questions, managing deadlines, and resolving bigger issues associated with bid package assembly
• Assist in determining project bidding viability through a review of drawings/specifications, evaluation of competition and consideration of schedule
Project Planning
• Review project specifications and request for proposal documentation
• Completes demolition and abatement work plans prior to beginning of work
• File paperwork and submittals before, during, and after jobs to meet project specifications and local and federal regulations
• Facilitate job kick-off meetings with client and field personnel
• Complete pre-demolition hazardous material surveys and provide written reports
• Manage the process involved with building the schedule for each bid to coordinate availability of labor and equipment for projects
• Daily financial responsibilities in a variety of areas, such as job cost v. estimated cost as well as some responsibility for the profit and loss of the company
Client Relationships
• Develop and manage a portfolio of clients
• Interact with internal support personnel as well as field staff
• Generate project leads through business development, effective marketing, and review of publications
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a clean & valid driver license (Required)
• Knowledge and experience in asbestos and construction (Preferred, but training will be provided to right candidate)
• At least 2 years of commercial/construction estimating experience (Required)
• Must have technical understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, and general knowledge of basic civil/construction engineering concepts
• Must possess a working knowledge of the means and methods of demolition, and can discuss the viability of each within the confines of the project requirements
• Must possess strong conceptual estimating skills – ability to understand, price, define and explain estimate content and approach
