Bering Straits Native Corporation, established in 1972 following the passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, is a for-profit Alaska Native Corporation for the Bering Strait region. The region encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound and is home to St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Central Yup’ik, and Inupiaq peoples. BSNC is owned by more than 8,300 shareholders and is one of the primary landholders in the region, accounting for more than two million acres of surface and subsurface estate. BSNC is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Youth Awards. Shareholder Haylen Thomas Lonnie O’Connor of Nome will receive the Young Provider Award in honor of Tom Gray. Shareholder Rena Tamaak Kiyutelluk Shishmaref will receive the Youth Culture Bearer Award in honor of Rena Kuzuguk and Morris Kiyutelluk. Shareholder Brooke Anungazuk will receive the Young Leader Award in honor of Elizabeth “Betty” Anagick. These awards annually recognize young people who contribute daily to the health and well-being of their families, communities, and culture. O’Connor, Kiyutelluk and Anungazuk will be recognized during the Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, in Nome, Alaska.

Dear Shareholders:

BSNC is providing notice to voting shareholders that nominee Fred Sagoonick has decided to withdraw as a nominee for the 2026 Board of Directors election. Votes already cast for Sagoonick will count toward quorum. If shareholders wish to change their selections, they may do so through BSNCvote.com before voting closes at 5 p.m. AKDT on Sept. 30, 2026. Shareholders who qualified for the early-bird prize drawings by voting early will remain eligible even if they change their votes.

BSNC will host the 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Nome Recreation Center. Elders who need a ride to the meeting may call the BSNC Nome office at 907-443-5252.

To help provide a safe and welcoming meeting for everyone, there will be a brief check-in process at the entrance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Shareholders who cannot attend in person are invited to watch the meeting online beginning at 10 a.m. AKDT. Please confirm that you can access the webcast in advance:
1. Go to bsncvote.com.
2. Enter your 14-digit shareholder ID number and five-letter PIN, located at the top of your proxy card.
3. Select Log In.
