We’re spotlighting Larry in Plot A4, who grew an impressively large onion this month. As you can see in the photo, Larry’s onion is nearly the size of a hand!
Congratulations, Larry, and thank you for sharing a little garden inspiration with the East Anaheim Community Garden community.

We’re also excited to spotlight John in Plot L1, whose tomato plants are now taller than some of our gardeners. John planted his tomatoes on March 1 and shared a helpful tip: he used organic liquid fish fertilizer to support their growth.

Be sure to check out John’s thriving tomato plants and large tomatoes the next time you visit the lower garden area.

Special shoutout to Lauren in Plot C1 and Matt Cole in Plot F3 for their hard work on a section of the Lower Hillside behind the apple trees.
Lauren and Matt removed the dying Nasturtium plants and refreshed the area with beautiful Zinnias and Milkweed, helping create a butterfly oasis for the summer.
Thank you both for your time, care, and effort in making this shared garden space even more welcoming for pollinators and visitors alike.

Anaheim has a free compost giveaway at Angel Stadium on Saturday, March 7th, 7 to 10 a.m. Just bring proof of residency and your own containers (no bags). 60 gallon limit.

There are also Each Machine compost bins available for $35, cash or check.
