Your primary suite should be your sanctuary 😌

More than any other room in your home, your bedroom and ensuite bathroom should reflect your aesthetic and act as a calming space to retreat to at the end of the day. At the Great Neck Remodel, we added a few key ingredients to give our clients the suite they were looking for:

✔️ Closed off the walk-in closet opening to keep the rooms separate
✔️ Added textured wallpaper to give the bedroom some personality
✔️ Replaced the bedroom floor with a white oak to enhance the beachy vibe
✔️ Removed the outdated built-in tub for a modern freestanding one
✔️ Switched out the dark vanity for a beach-inspired one with a Dekton Rem counter
✔️ Installed the same stone for the shower walls with a river stone tiled floor and all-glass enclosure

Nothing completes a home quite like a finished basement 🙌

Looking to get even more out of your house? Basements offer valuable livable space that is not always used to its full potential.

At the Great Neck Remodel, the garden-level basement had ample room and potential but was left mostly unfinished. We transformed the space to include a mudroom with lockers, a media room for gaming and TV viewing, a three-quarter bathroom, and a spacious laundry/storage room.

To further enhance our clients' modern beachy aesthetic, we installed:
✔️ A slat-wood feature wall in the media room (complete with a hidden door providing access to the utility room)
✔️ White oak custom cabinetry in the mudroom and under the TV with black-painted accents
✔️ Cheeky monkey wallpaper in the bathroom for a touch of whimsy 🙈

A seaside oasis 🌊

To bring their beach-house dreams to life, our clients sought to remodel their home in a coastal yet modern style. This type of design blends relaxed indoor-outdoor living, natural light, and organic materials. Core elements include a neutral, earthy color palette and minimalist yet warm textures.

Changing the layout to merge the kitchen, dining room, and living room into one bright, airy zone helped actualize this, as did the abundance of windows and design details, such as the natural-textured wallpaper and warm, modern cabinetry.

There's nothing better than a good transformation 👌

The original layout of the Great Neck Remodel's main living space was disconnected. The kitchen was tight and separated from the rest of the first floor by a bulky central fireplace, which made it less than ideal for prepping, cooking, and entertaining. To bring in more light and flexibility, we removed the various partition walls and the fireplace. This not only connected all the main living spaces on this floor, improving sight lines, but also gave us room to build a large island for cooking and gathering.

Introducing the Great Neck Remodel!

Our clients were looking to live closer to the beach and found a home in the perfect location on Great Neck, but the house was outdated, and the flow didn't match their vision. They wanted to create a warm, minimalist, coastal-inspired house built for entertaining and to support their busy family's lifestyle.

We completely gutted and remodeled this three-story home, finishing the basement, creating an open-concept kitchen, living room, and dining room, and revamping their top-floor primary suite to match their aesthetic. The result was a cozy, inviting beach home that was exactly what they envisioned.

A home run afternoon! ⚾

A customized primary suite 👌

To ensure a minimalist, sleek aesthetic throughout the Plum Primary Remodel, we opted for custom millwork. In the living area, we installed built-in storage along the entire interior wall, ending in a custom desk.

To avoid overly cluttering the bedroom and to create a seamless design, it was important for us to build a bed surround. This way, we didn't have another piece of furniture floating in the space. We built a full surround and floating nightstands, and integrated them into the slat-wood feature wall.

The bathroom vanity was milled from our clients' own walnut slab, making it extra special. We designed this with recessed pulls to further enhance the desired minimalist aesthetic.

All these custom pieces came together to create a beautiful second-story retreat that feels like a luxurious hotel.
